Tips and Tricks: Google Maps Widget

Tips and Tricks: Google Maps Widget[/c/]
It's your birthday and you want all of your friends to join the bash. How do you make sure that everyone gets there by posting the party's location on your blog! The answer is our Google Maps widget.

So, how does it work?

1) Search the address via maps.google.co.uk. If you're from the US, it'd be maps.google.com; for Canadians, it's maps.google.ca. For example, if the party's at Ministry of Sound in London, just enter "Ministry of Sound, London" in search, and a detailed map with an aerial view of your destination appears in just seconds.

2) Copy the HTML "Link to this page" (found on the top right, just above the map) and paste it into the "widget" field when you create an article in your blog.

3) And then you party like there's no tomorrow

** Out of precaution, don't publish a map with your home address. It's much safer to show just your neighbourhood.

Close-up: Change your blog's mood and feel with fonts!

Close-up: Change your blog's mood and feel with fonts!
Fonts can really impact the look, mood and feel of what you write, so be sure to personalise your blog with our new font palette. Select the text you want to have the font for, and then click "Apply"!

Before its release, some members have been manually tweaking their fonts. We've automatised this process, but the principle remains the same.

1.How do you do it?
Any time you modify text in an article (ie, changing the colour), codes appear between brackets [ ] before and after the selected lines. This also applies to fonts.

Just one note: For demonstration purposes, we had to insert spaces between the brackets so that you could better see how to go about doing it. However, these codes only work without the space, so don't forget to delete the spaces! (If you don't see what we mean, just try it)

2. Font
Put the code before the text you want to change and end it by [ /font]. Replace Remplace ## by the font's name:

Example: To have « Skyrock » appear in « helvetica » : write [ font=helvetica]Skyrock[ /font] => Skyrock

Below are all the fonts we'll be offering:

arial
arial black
comic sans ms
serif
sans-serif
cursive
monospace
courier new
helvetica
georgia
impact
lucida console
lucida sans unicode
palatino linotype
geneva
tahoma
times new roman
trebuchet ms
verdana
ms sans serif
ms serif

3. Size
=> To change the size of your font, use the code: text[ /size]
=> Replace ## by a number between 8 and 16 depending on how big you want it.

Example :
8 => Skyrock
10 => Skyrock
13 => Skyrock
16 => Skyrock

Stay tuned for more!

Close-up: Put a song on your blog

Close-up: Put a song on your blog
Like a song that you found on a Skyrock Music Blog? Put it on your blog!

To do so, get on Skyrock Music and, from any Music Blog, click on “Add to my blog”. Once it's done, the track appears on your blog and may be heard by all visitors. Of course, you're free to replace the track as many times as you wish.

Please note that this link doesn't appear next to all the titles available on a Music Blog, as its author decides whether s/he wants to share it with others.

If you'd like to create your own Music Blog, you must create a new Skyrock account and have legal rights on the titles you make available.
